00486 Lobtailing

A behavior connected to both communication and feeding is lobtailing, as this Humpback is doing. When a whale lobtails, it slaps the water repeatedly with its fluke, or tail fin. This can be repeated more than twenty or thirty times in a row by a whale. Perhaps they're waiting for someone to "pick up the phone" and say something back?
